The Counselling & Mentoring Cell of Dr S C Gulhane Prerna College of Commerce, Science, and Arts supports the academic, emotional, psychological, and career development of students. The Cell aims to create a student-friendly environment by providing guidance, mentoring, and counselling services to help students overcome personal, academic, and social challenges.
Objectives
- ✦To provide academic and personal counselling to students
- ✦To support students' mental well-being and emotional health
- ✦To mentor students for academic progress and career planning
- ✦To identify and support slow learners and students at risk
- ✦To promote a positive and inclusive campus culture
Functions of the Cell
- ✦To conduct mentoring sessions for students (one-to-one / group)
- ✦To provide psychological counselling and emotional support
- ✦To guide students in academic planning and exam preparation
- ✦To assist students in career choices and higher education options
- ✦To conduct stress management, time management, and life skills programs
- ✦To maintain the confidentiality of student information
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
Students may approach the Cell through:
- ✦Direct interaction with mentors
- ✦Scheduled counselling sessions
- ✦Referral from departments or IQAC
Mentor–Mentee System
- ✦Each student is allotted a faculty mentor
- ✦Regular mentor–mentee meetings are conducted
- ✦Academic progress, attendance, and overall development are monitored
- ✦Mentors guide students regarding career options, internships, and skill development
