The Anti-Ragging Cell of the Department of MBA and the Department of MCA, Dr S C Gulhane Prerna College of Management and Technology, is constituted in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. The College follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all MBA and MCA students.
As per the notification from the University Grants Commission (UGC), ragging constitutes one or more of the following acts by any student or group of students:
- ✦Any act of indiscipline, teasing, or handling with rudeness.
- ✦Any act that prevents or disrupts the regular academic activity.
- ✦Any activity likely to cause annoyance, hardship, psychological harm, or create fear or apprehension.
- ✦Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure.
- ✦Any act of physical abuse causing assault, harm, or danger to health.
- ✦Any act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS, or public insult, etc.
- ✦Any act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to human dignity.
- ✦Any act of wrongful confinement, kidnapping, molesting, or committing unnatural offences, or use of criminal force.
- ✦Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to rag.
Students or groups of students found guilty of the above are liable for strict disciplinary action as deemed fit, including suspension, expulsion, or rustication as per UGC and university norms.
Objectives
- ✦To prevent ragging in all forms within the MBA and MCA departments and across the campus.
- ✦To create awareness among students of both departments about anti-ragging laws and regulations.
- ✦To receive and promptly address ragging-related complaints from students.
- ✦To ensure a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment for all MBA and MCA students, especially first-year entrants.
Functions of the Anti-Ragging Committee
- ✦To conduct regular awareness programs, orientations, and undertakings/affidavits at the start of every academic session for MBA and MCA students.
- ✦To monitor campus, classroom, hostel, and canteen activities to prevent ragging.
- ✦To receive complaints through online and offline modes.
- ✦To investigate reported cases promptly and impartially.
- ✦To recommend disciplinary action as per UGC norms and applicable law.
- ✦To submit periodic reports to IQAC and the Principal/Director.

- ✦Written complaint submitted to the Anti-Ragging Cell office
- ✦Direct reporting to the Principal/Director or any Committee Member
